Connected Conditions

Seeing Beyond the Surface to the Root Cause

At The Solution Center, we understand that many chronic conditions often have an underlying visual or neurological component that goes undiagnosed for years. Patients come to us from all walks of life—many after seeing multiple specialists—with symptoms that don’t fit neatly into a single diagnosis.

Our approach is different. We look deeper, beyond standard eye exams, to uncover how the eyes, brain, and body are working together—or not. Below are some of the conditions we commonly address, often through the lens of NeuroVisual Medicine, Microprism Therapy, and Sensory Integration Techniques.

Binocular Vision Dysfunction (BVD)

A subtle misalignment of the eyes that leads to chronic headaches, dizziness, difficulty reading, anxiety in crowds, and more. Often mistaken for neurological or psychological issues, BVD is one of the most overlooked causes of everyday discomfort—and one of the most treatable with the right diagnosis.

Vertical Heterophoria

A type of BVD where one eye is higher than the other, leading to problems with depth perception, balance, and head tilting. It can contribute to chronic dizziness, nausea, and even feelings of panic in visually complex environments.

Superior Oblique Palsy

A specific muscle weakness in the eye that leads to vertical double vision, head tilting, and balance problems. Many cases are congenital and misdiagnosed for years. We provide targeted treatment options to reduce the strain and improve visual comfort.

Anxiety & Panic-Like Symptoms

Visual overload, especially in busy or crowded environments, can trigger anxiety in individuals with BVD or visual-vestibular imbalances. Correcting the misalignment can lead to reduced stress and improved emotional well-being.

ADHD & Focus Challenges

Symptoms like inattention, hyperactivity, and distractibility can be linked to visual dysfunction. Addressing vision-related strain or poor eye coordination can help reduce symptoms and improve a child’s ability to concentrate and learn.

Visual Processing Disorders

When the eyes see clearly, but the brain struggles to interpret what it sees. This can affect reading, coordination, attention, and learning. Visual processing challenges are often at the core of unexplained academic or behavioral issues in children.

Dyslexia & Learning Difficulties

While dyslexia is a language-based learning disorder, visual inefficiencies like poor eye tracking or teaming can make reading even harder. We address the visual piece of the puzzle to support overall reading success.

Tinnitus

Though not a visual condition, tinnitus often coexists with neurological and vestibular dysfunction. Through our integrative approach—including microprism therapy and sensory modulation—we help patients calm the nervous system and find relief.

Hyperacusis

A heightened sensitivity to sound that frequently coexists with visual and vestibular dysregulation. We approach hyperacusis through gentle, integrative care aimed at rebalancing the sensory systems.

Third Mobile Window Syndrome (TMWS)

A complex vestibular condition that affects hearing and balance, often mimicking BVD or co-occurring with it. We collaborate with your medical team to support your recovery through visual and sensory integration therapies.

Dysautonomia (POTS)

Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) is a form of dysautonomia that affects heart rate, blood pressure, and circulation—especially upon standing. Many patients with POTS also experience visual symptoms like light sensitivity, dizziness, and visual fatigue. At The Solution Center, we address the visual and sensory components of dysautonomia, helping stabilize the system and improve quality of life.
